Encyclopedia of Plants: It provides information regarding the general description of the plants, the various methods of cultivation, such as indoor or outdoor planting, soil and temperature requirements, pruning, and other important details, the means of propagation (seeds, cuttings, division, etc.), and the different varieties and hybrids.

EveryRose -- The Rose Reference Database: The EveryRose.com database collects descriptive information on every rose currently being sold, and the most important historical and species roses. Database includes 7,000 roses and 2,100 photos. It is a work that will forever be in progress, as new roses are introduced and more data is researched on existing roses. The EveryRose.com database is searchable through a Web browser by many rose characteristics.

HortWorld: the International Horticultural Network: This interactive site provides industry professionals with the latest, most up-to-date information, news and technology in horticulture.

HortiPlex: This database contains plant images and data as well as links to information sources, images and vendors at other sites. Searches may be limited to: just those records with images or links to images; records with vendor links; or, records of botanical taxa.

Horticulture Information Leaflets: From NC State University and A&T State University Cooperative Extension Service. Hundreds of leaflets in html and pdf on consumer and commerical horitculture topics, from commercial organic farming and flower producton to landscape design and weed information.

National Gardening: Website from the nonprofit National Gardening Association whose goals are to help gardeners and help people through gardening. Site features Q&A Library, Article library, how-to projects, dictionary, zone finder, and photo gallery of bug mug shots.

Plants Database: The PLANTS Database is a single source of standardized information about plants. This database focuses on vascular plants, mosses, liverworts, hornworts, and lichens of the U.S. and its territories. The PLANTS Database includes names, checklists, automated tools, identification information, species abstracts, distributional data, crop information, plant symbols, plant growth data, plant materials information, plant links, references, and other plant information. Seed Savers Exchange: A non-profit tax-exempt organization that is saving heirloom (handed-down) garden seeds from extinction. Members grow and distribute heirloom varieties of vegetables, fruits, and grains. Their main focus is on heirloom varieties that gardeners and farmers brought to North American when their families immigrated, and traditional varieties grown by Native Americans, Mennonites and Amish.

The Garden Gate: Into the Garden and Beyond: The Garden Gate offers gardeners and nature lovers a selection of links to horticulture sites around the world.

The Old Farmer's Almanac: The web version of this well known periodical allows you to personalize weather reports and ask questions online.

Web Garden: Sponsored by Ohio State University. Provides a growing collection of resources for beginning and professional gardeners, students, teachers, professional agronomists and horticulturalists. Also features Plant Facts, a database of over 20,000 fact sheets collected from 46 different universities and government institutions across the U.S. and Canada.

Wildflowers: Information is organized by states and includes gardens, events, catalogs, WWW links and resources. Additional information is provided on references, plant identification and photographs of wildflowers.
