Services

Eastern Shore Regional Library, Inc (ESRL) empowers libraries by connecting them to resources, services, and expertise, building vital communities.

ESRL serves as a regional resource center for the eight public library systems on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We provide enterprise level services, resources, and purchasing power that an individual library cannot provide adequately by itself. We serve as a source of consultation for our member libraries regarding technology, grants, staff development, and major projects.

Information Services

ESRL administers and maintains a centralized ILS for its member libraries and provides related services such as cataloging and authority control. The centralized ILS enables member libraries to share materials and collections, providing patrons with a much larger borrowing ability.

ESRL maintains a collection of materials for staff at member libraries, including kits and diecuts as well as items for any library card holder to borrow. These items include book club kits and professional development titles. Other free resources provided by the regional library include:

  • Downloadable ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and comics
  • Movies and TV shows to stream
  • Research databases
  • On-demand classes and instructor-led courses
